Announcement – Managing respirable crystalline silica dust exposure in construction and manufacturing of construction elements Code of Practice 2022
Dear Industry Reference Group members,
I am very pleased to confirm that Minister Grace has approved the Managing respirable crystalline silica dust exposure in construction and manufacturing of construction elements Code of Practice 2022 (the Code), with a commencement date of 1 May 2023.
The approved Code can be viewed at www.worksafe.qld.gov.au. Between now and the Code’s commencement next year, WHSQ will be providing information sessions and resources to help industry and unions raise awareness of the Code and its requirements.
WHSQ is also providing training to its inspectorate and advisors to ensure that we as a Regulator are prepared to enforce compliance with the Code from May 2023.
